Hammerlock TV Episode 6

Hammerlock TV Episode #6
Elephant and Castle Leisure Centre, London
Your commentary team is Adam Wheeler and Chris Freeman.

Hammerlock TV began with a tremendous video highlights package of what went down two nights ago at Rebirth. Before Chris Freeman and Adam Wheeler had a chance to welcome viewers to the show, "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner hit and Devon Ferrari made his way down to the ring. Ferrari took the microphone and disingenuously offered his congratulations to the new Heavyweight Champion, Jason Prentice. However, Ferrari thought that Prentice should strap that title belt around the waist of his valet/manager Linda O'Neil, as he claimed it was her that won all the matches. The crowd started to get behind Ferrari as he claimed that he should get a title shot right here tonight on Hammerlock TV, as Prentice wasn't able to beat him by himself in the tournament. Ferrari said that Prentice and Linda had screwed him out of the tourney and taken his opportunity to become the Heavyweight Champion, so now he was going to take the title from Prentice. Ferrari claimed to be the better man.

Suddenly, "Sad But True" blared over the P.A. system and an angry Punisher appeared at the top of the ramp. The crowd chanted, "Pun-ish-er!" as he entered the ring to confront Ferrari. The Punisher said that he was sick of hearing Ferrari piss and moan like he was the only one who's been screwed over by Prentice and Linda. The Punisher said that the whole world witnessed those two rob him of a place in the final at Rebirth. The Punisher stated that he should have expected it as he felt that there was no way that the new champion could beat him one-on-one and he promptly challenged Prentice to a title match. Refusing to back down, Ferrari claimed that if he hadn't been screwed by Prentice, he'd have advanced and kicked The Punisher's ass, so The Punisher would have been a loser at Rebirth anyway! Freeman felt that Ferrari should have chosen his words a little more carefully! Pissed off, The Punisher threatened to put Ferrari on the shelf for a while so there'd be no more debate about who should get a crack at the title! Ferrari said that he'd love to see him try and slapped The Punisher hard across the face! Big mistake. The crowd were really in to this as The Punisher took Ferrari down with a hard lariat and the fight was on!!

Devon Ferrari and The Punisher rolled around on the canvas trading punches as the brawl then spilled to the floor. Referees and road agents quickly arrived at ringside to separate the two as the fans chanted, "Let them go!". Muerte de Antedicho sprinted down to the ring as the crowd cheered! He sprang onto the top rope and dived onto the sea of bodies with an amazing springboard somersault plancha!!! The crowd were on their feet cheering as the officials tried desperately to restore order. Freeman thought that Antedicho had just put his name forward for a Heavyweight Title shot of his own!!

Footage played from Rebirth of Junior Jones attacking the newly-crowned Television Champion Bryan Campbell.

Backstage, Kelly interviewed Junior Jones. The International Bright Young Thing said that he'd been asking for a shot at Bryan Campbell for this week on one of the television shows. However, a dejected Jones stated that Hammerlock officials wouldn't allow it. Then, his expression turned to delight as Jones revealed that they were going to save the bout for the next Hammerlock supershow, GrandSlam. Jones said that he had just signed the contract and was counting the days. He correctly stated that he is still the only man to beat Campbell since Hammerlock was reborn and claimed that history would repeat itself in four weeks at GrandSlam.

All the lights in the arena then shut off, plunging the Elephant and Castle Leisure Centre into darkness. The commentators wondered what was going on as "Da Funk" by Daft Punk started to play. Sirens also began to wail and suddenly fireworks exploded at the entrance way and shot all the way down the aisle to the ring! Amidst a red laser show, a figure clad all in black ran down to the ring and flipped over the top rope. This is Kontraband, touted as the UK's best high-flyer in many years. The crowd were pumped up by Kontraband's incredible entrance as he awaited his very first opponent in a Hammerlock ring, Young Posso Fleeto No.1's Aero.

Kontraband defeated Aero via pinfall in 0:13:54.
Rating: ** 3/4
[Shellsuit Boab interfered against Kontraband.]

Match highlights:
Aero was less than impressed with Hammerlock's exciting newcomer and attacked Kontraband immediately with a back elbow and a dropkick. The fans appeared to take to Kontraband instantly and rallied behind him as he fired back with a German suplex. He brought a chair into the ring and scored with a springboard elbow off it onto Aero. Kontraband had taken control, dominating Aero with a springboard rana and an enzuigiri. These NEDs are resilient though and Aero proved that by hitting a beautiful Frankensteiner off the top rope and a nice Ace Crusher. The crowd were on their feet as Aero nailed Kontraband with an amazing springboard corkscrew plancha! Kontraband arrived in Hammerlock with a reputation as potentially the best high-flyer this country has ever seen, but Aero was certainly stealing his thunder here. Kontraband came back with a springboard dropkick, a moonsault bodyblock, a shooting star press and a flying legdrop, all of which earned near falls. Sensing that his pal was in danger, Shellsuit Boab distracted the referee as Kontraband hit the Kontra Kode. As Kontraband went to investigate why there was no count, Wee Tam entered the ring with a chair and took a swing at Kontraband, but he ended up waffling Aero! Kontraband struck Tam with a no-hands enzuigiri, sending him flying from the squared circle and he then covered his unconscious opponent for a debut win.

Footage rolled from Rebirth of Jawaid Kaleeq accidentally eliminating his partner M.J. from the Tag Team Battle Royal. M.J. destroyed Kaleeq afterward.

Kaleeq, obviously still fuming about what had occurred at Rebirth, was shown making his way out to the arena for his match-up with "The Iceman" Ben Winter.

Jawaid Kaleeq pinned Ben Winter after a frog splash in 0:11:52.
Rating: ***

Match highlights:
Kaleeq was still severely pissed off with M.J. after Rebirth and attempted to take out some of his frustration here on The Iceman with a series of vicious elbowsmashes. Winter used his size and strength to turn the tide, hurting Kaleeq with a spinebuster slam and a Gorilla Press. Kaleeq took Winter down with a flying dropkick, then hit a jumping clothesline and followed that up with an incredible frog splash for the three count!

Ben Winter's slump continues, as he just knew it. Winter took another tantrum, growing ever frustrated with each loss. He tore apart the guardrail at ringside and then pushed the timekeeper out of his chair. He cracked the chair against the ringpost repeatedly and then beat the hell out of the steel steps with it. Winter dropped to his knees and yelled out loud as Wheeler speculated that we were witnessing a nervous breakdown here on Hammerlock TV!

Backstage, Serenity was bounding towards the arena, looking very pleased with herself.

***Commercial break***

Footage played of Serenity turning on Midnight Blue and costing him his semi-final match against Muerte de Antedicho at Rebirth.

In the arena, "I Like The Way" by The Bodyrockers played and Serenity flounced down to the ring, looking deliciously mischievous. The fans in attendance chanted, "slut!" at her. Disgusted, Serenity ordered them to shut up as she had something important to say. She claimed that Midnight Blue never gave her the credit that she so richly deserved. She said that the reason for Blue's success was simple - her. Chris Freeman said that was preposterous. Serenity said that Midnight Blue was as big a flop in the ring as he is "on camera"! She evilly added that Blue found out the hard way what happens when you don't treat her right.

The crowd popped as Midnight Blue emerged from the entrance way, struggling to make his way down the ramp through a barricade of officials. The fans were desperate to see him get his hands on Serenity. She goaded him from the ring, claiming that when she hit him between the legs at Rebirth she didn't feel a thing! Blue stopped in his tracks as Serenity said that although she couldn't fight him, she had someone who is more than willing to do so. She had found a new man. Blue wanted to know who, when suddenly he was struck from behind by a muscular blond-haired man wielding a steel chair!

The crowd jeered as this mystery man shoved the referees out of the way and stomped away at Midnight Blue. Serenity relaxed in the corner of the ring and laughed as Blue was tossed into the squared circle. Serenity's new charge then blasted a barely-conscious Blue with a short clothesline and hoisted him up for a Moonlight Bomb. Serenity introduced everyone to her new "co-star", Anthony DeAngelo. She then stood over Blue's battered body and verbally abused him, before slapping him for added insult. Serenity and her new man DeAngelo shared an x-rated kiss over the beaten Midnight Blue as the fans booed them out of the building.

Backstage, Bryan Campbell, with the TV Title draped over his shoulder, approached the NWA-UK Hammerlock president Peter Abram. Campbell commended Abram on his decision to make Junior Jones wait a month for his match with him, as that would give him more than enough time to prepare for the bout. Abram said that the reason to give Jones the match at GrandSlam wasn't to give Campbell added time to get ready, but instead so Hammerlock could make more money from it. Abram added that Campbell wouldn't have any time to prepare for the match, as because he's the TV champion, he'll have to defend that title every week on television, starting with Luke Champion in a rematch from Rebirth on Saturday Fight Night! Annoyed, The Blue Chipper said that was fine, as nobody could take the title from him. Abram sarcastically wished Campbell the best of luck and hoped he wouldn't lose the gold before GrandSlam, as he could make almost double the amount of money if the Campbell-Jones encounter was a title match. Campbell stormed off as Abram smiled wryly.

Footage rolled from Rebirth of the Hammersmith Hard Men capturing the vacant Tag Team Titles at the expense of Dunky and Biscuit from Young Posso Fleeto No.1.

Tawheed then made his way out to the ring for his match with Gaz Phillips. He had revenge on his mind for his NED gang.

Gaz Phillips pinned Tawheed with the Ungentlemanly Conduct in 0:04:24.
Rating: **
[Boab T. and Kirsty interfered against Gaz Phillips.]

Match highlights:
Phillips attacked the NED before the bell, but Tawheed withstood an early pummelling and surprised the co-holder of the Tag Team Titles with a flying dropkick, a somersault legdrop and a flying somersault neckbreaker. Phillips came back but his momentum was abruptly halted by a low blow from Tawheed, who then proceeded to choke the life out of Gaz. Feeding off the fans, Phillips planted Tawheed with a back suplex. Gaz then bounced Tawheed off the top rope with a Hotshot and surprised the NED with a piledriver. That set up the Ungentlemanly Conduct pumphandle slam for a somewhat hard-fought victory.

As Phillips celebrated his win, two unknown Italian men clad in street clothes hit the ring and attacked him! They beat him down to the mat and stomped away at him, before one of the men lifted Phillips up in a wheelbarrow position and the other brought him down with an Ace Crusher! The two men gave the crowd the Italian salute and turned their attention back to Phillips. They took Phillips' thumb on his right hand and bent it back into a sickening position when Rick Knight finally arrived with a steel chair to make the save for his tag team partner. The Italians bailed out as Knight checked on Phillips, who it appeared had had his thumb broken.

Backstage, M.J. was preparing for his upcoming match with Scottie Hero by doing press-ups in his dressing room. Jawaid Kaleeq then barged in, grabbed a towel and proceeded to choke the personal trainer with it! Several officials quickly arrived to drag the crazed Kaleeq off M.J. and out of the room. M.J. was left coughing and gasping on the floor.

Another video promo aired for the Tag Team World Cup, a tag team tournament featuring twenty-four tandems, each representing a different country from all over the globe. It happens this summer and several Hammerlock superstars will be heavily involved.

Backstage, Kelly interviewed Scottie Hero. Hero declared his interest in representing England in the Tag Team World Cup. Kelly said that a lot of grapplers are dreaming of wrestling for England, not just in Hammerlock but throughout the whole country. Hero understood that but was determined to show everyone that he is worthy of that accolade and vowed to prove it over the next few weeks, starting with M.J. tonight.

Scottie Hero pinned M.J. after a double underhook suplex in 0:02:57.
Rating: ** 1/2

Match highlights:
The pre-match beatdown wasn't the ideal warm up for M.J., but to his credit he brought the fight to Scottie Hero early on with a flying clothesline and a backbreaker. Hero kicked out of a side suplex and then punished M.J. with the Gory Special. However, when Hero looked to deliver a flying rana, M.J. overpowered him and countered with a sitout power bomb. The advantage would only be brief though and M.J. ultimately tasted defeat as he succumbed to a double underhook suplex. The attack by Jawaid Kaleeq had obviously taken its toll.

***Commercial break***

A dejected Ben Winter was shown leaving the arena, his bag slung over his shoulder and his head bowed. Someone in the backstage crew shouted, "Loser!" at him. As Freeman and Wheeler feared that Winter might kill the stagehand, The Iceman simply continued on his way.

A clearly hungover Jason Prentice was backstage talking to NWA-UK Hammerlock president Peter Abram. Linda O'Neil had possession of the Heavyweight Championship. Abram explained to Prentice that he had come to a decision regarding the top contender to the Heavyweight Title. He set up a Triangle Match for Saturday Fight Night featuring Muerte de Antedicho, Devon Ferrari and The Punisher. The winner of that contest will face Prentice for the title next week. Prentice asked if he could delay the defence of his title a bit longer, as he feared that he might not have recovered from his "illness" in time. Abram unsympathetically predicted that he would be fine and then ordered him out of his office...NOW! Abram made sure to shout that last word just to make Prentice's headache that little bit worse.

Goldie Lookin' Chain (Mike Balls, Mystikal and P Xain) defeated
The Aristocrats (Cuthbert D. Fharquar and Lord J. T. Potemkin III) and Jeeves
when Xain pinned Fharquar with the Manifesto in 0:09:09.
Rating: * 3/4

Match highlights:
The bulky Jeeves squashed P Xain in the corner with his tremendous girth in the early going of this one. Fharquar executed a somersault slam on Mystikal, but the GLC got back into it when the brawler Mike Balls rocked Fharquar with a shattering powerslam. Fharquar would take a beating, hitting the mat hard after Balls pressed him high above his head and then Xain pinned him after the Manifesto. An embarrassing loss for the Aristocrats. Goldie Lookin' Chain celebrated with the fans to close the show.

Circuit information:
The two men who attacked Gaz Phillips are Manuel Majoli and Matteo Saronni, collectively known as La Cosa Nostra. They are a couple of Italian mobsters and they will make their debut on Saturday Fight Night. They were indeed successful in breaking the thumb of Phillips, who will be sidelined for several weeks. Rick Knight will also be at Saturday Fight Night and has vowed revenge.

Also making his debut on Saturday Fight Night is Serenity's new charge, Anthony DeAngelo. He left Midnight Blue nursing a concussion after his brutal attack tonight and we'll see how dangerous he is in an actual wrestling match this Saturday.

Cuthbert D. Fharquar was left humiliated and embarrassed by the Aristocrats loss to the Goldie Lookin' Chain tonight. He has taken it very personally and has laid down a challenge to any member of the GLC to face him one-on-one next week.

Ben Winter is taking some time off to recharge his batteries. There is also talk of some tweaking of his gimmick and character.

That's all for tonight but join us for Saturday Fight Night where we'll determine who faces Jason Prentice next week for the NWA-UK Hammerlock Heavyweight Title with a three way match involving Muerte de Antedicho, The Punisher and Devon Ferrari! Also, Bryan Campbell puts his newly-won TV Title on the line against Luke Champion! You won't want to miss it! Till then, so long everybody!
