Hammerlock TV Episode 12

Hammerlock TV Episode #12
Bolton Arena, Bolton
Your commentary team is Chris Freeman and Adam Wheeler.

Tonight's show begins with a video package documenting the bitter rivalry between Hammerlock Tag Team Champions La Cosa Nostra and former champs The Hammersmith Hard Men. Their feud over the titles ends tonight in our main event which will be a Sicilian Stretcher Match. The opening contest of the evening is a singles contest featuring Mystikal, the man who challenges Bryan Campbell for the TV Title at Heatwave, going up against the big Russian Ivan Dragunov. Mystikal is giving up a significant amount of height and weight in this match-up but the impressive high-flyer really needs the win here just under two weeks away from Heatwave.

Match highlights:
Mystikal took his much larger opponent down with a dropkick to the knee and followed up with a 450 splash, but Ivan Dragunov kicked out at the very last second. Mystikal used a flying headscissors and a dropkick, but the big bad Russian fired back with a backbreaker and a delayed vertical suplex. Dragunov used a power bomb to counter Mystikal's springboard rana and then took Mystikal down with a back suplex. Later, Mystikal took Dragunov down with an incredible moonsault plancha and he put him away with the Self Suicide. A big win for Mystikal and a great way to warm up for his TV Title match against Bryan Campbell at Heatwave.

Mystikal pinned Ivan Dragunov with the Self Suicide in 0:08:07.
Rating: * 3/4

Mystikal looks ready for the biggest match of his career which is just twelve days away. The Television Champion Bryan Campbell claimed that he would go through all the other members of Goldie Lookin' Chain before Heatwave - he will begin that quest on Saturday Fight Night against Eggsy.

Backstage, Kelly was standing by with Serenity, along with Anthony DeAngelo. Kelly noted that Serenity wasn't too happy with Anthony DeAngelo last week after he accepted a match with Matt Sizemore at Heatwave where if DeAngelo loses, Sizemore gets five minutes alone in the ring with Serenity. Serenity brushed off that claim and said that if Sizemore is so stipulation-happy, then she had a stipulation of her own. Serenity stated that both DeAngelo and she had already pinned Matt Sizemore and they were growing a bit tired of it because it was too easy. She decided that the match between DeAngelo and Sizemore should be a First Blood Match, where the first man to draw blood loses the bout. Serenity added that there is no way that Sizemore will get his hands on her, because Anthony DeAngelo is going to leave him in a pool of his own blood at Heatwave!!

As Anthony DeAngelo and Serenity made their way down to the squared circle, Chris Freeman informed viewers that he had just received word from the back that Matt Sizemore had agreed to Serenity's stipulation. The match is signed for Heatwave - Sizemore vs. DeAngelo in a First Blood Match!

Match highlights:
Migraine planted Anthony DeAngelo with a spinebuster slam for a two count and then connected with a swinging DDT. DeAngelo thwarted a Pedigree attempt and winded Migraine with a kneelift, but DeAngelo's short clothesline attempt was countered into a crucifix pinning combination for a near fall. Migraine scored with a springboard legdrop off a chair and hit a power bomb for two. Migraine went for a moonsault but DeAngelo protected himself by pulling his knees up and hit an elbowsmash for another near fall. DeAngelo executed the Bump 'n Grind and went for the cover, but only got a two count even with his feet on the ropes. DeAngelo knocked Migraine goofy with a Hotshot onto the steel chair and used a short clothesline for the victory.

Anthony DeAngelo pinned Migraine after a short clothesline in 0:10:12.
Rating: ** 3/4

Migraine gingerly made his way back to his feet after the bell as Anthony DeAngelo wound up with the chair and then cracked Migraine over the skull! The crowd exploded in boos and Migraine was bleeding heavily. Serenity was delighted. She took the microphone and entered the ring. DeAngelo propped Migraine up and smeared the blood around Migraine's face. Serenity directed her comments straight at Matt Sizemore, yelling, "At Heatwave, this is you!!".

Backstage, Kelly interviewed Ben Winter and Victoria Silvstedt. Victoria did all the talking. She claimed that The Iceman is unstoppable now that he is being guided by her. She said that Winter's roll would continue against Muerte de Antedicho here tonight. Victoria said it was an outrage that Ben Winter hadn't been booked for Heatwave yet. She demanded that Winter be given a title shot, when Leilani and Ian Powers interrupted. Leilani said that when her man Ian Powers wins the Heavyweight Title from Jason Prentice on Saturday, then they might consider giving Winter a shot at the gold. Victoria said that Leilani should be more concerned with shedding a few pounds and getting in shape for the bikini contest at Heatwave! Leilani replied by saying that all the men prefer to see her in a bikini because she is 100% natural, whereas Victoria would melt in the sun! Winter and Powers kept their respective women apart. Winter and Silvstedt made their way out to the arena, while Leilani shook her head in disgust and muttered under her breath.

Muerte de Antedicho makes his return to Hammerlock here this evening after taking time off to compete in the Tag Team World Cup. But can the exciting Spaniard stop the incredible winning streak that Ben Winter has been on as of late?

Match highlights:
Muerte de Antedicho hadn't been in a Hammerlock ring since he came up short against Jason Prentice in the Heavyweight Title Steel Cage Match at GrandSlam, but it was if he hadn't been away as he dominated Ben Winter with a spinning leg lariat, a springboard dropkick and a ropeflip moonsault for a near fall. Winter used his power to take control with a Gorilla Press and a bearhug. The Iceman floored Antedicho with a big boot and executed a running powerslam for two. Winter drilled Antedicho with a jumping DDT. Antedicho tried to come back with a moonsault bodyblock, but in an awesome display of sheer strength Winter turned it into the match-winning sidewalk slam.

Ben Winter pinned Muerte de Antedicho after a sidewalk slam in 0:08:13.

Back from the break and we are set for a match between two guys that have been lost in the shuffle lately - Devon Ferarri and Jawaid Kaleeq. There's no doubting how much talent either man has but both wrestlers are desperate for a win to get some recognition from Hammerlock officials and with it a title shot. Ferrari and Kaleeq had some heated exchanges last week on Hammerlock TV during the course of a tag team match. Let's see what happens tonight.

Match highlights:
Devon Ferrari delved into his impressive arsenal of moves to overwhelm Jawaid Kaleeq, executing a missile dropkick, a slingshot legdrop and a nice top-rope DDT which earned a near fall. Ferrari took Kaleeq down with a Northern Lights bomb and a swinging neckbreaker. Kaleeq scored an extremely close two count with a tiger driver. Kaleeq destroyed Ferrari with a barrage of vicious elbowsmashes and used a senton for two. Ferrari came back with a slingshot into a DDT, but Kaleeq rocked Ferrari with a rolling elbowsmash. Kaleeq then rolled Ferrari up in the Tiger Clutch for the three count to draw a truly wonderful match to an end.

Jawaid Kaleeq pinned Devon Ferrari with the Tiger Clutch in 0:08:23.
Rating: **** 1/4

What an incredible contest here tonight on Hammerlock TV! We have been privileged to witness one of the greatest Hammerlock matches of all time. After the contest, Ferrari and Kaleeq shook hands as the crowd gave both men a richly deserved standing ovation. Chris Freeman plugged the Sicilian Stretcher Match coming up next.

The Hammerlock Tag Team Titles were on the line in the main event of the evening - a Sicilian Stretcher Match between champions La Cosa Nostra and The Hammersmith Hard Men. The intense rivalry between these two warring teams has been brutal, bloody and at times uncontrollable. It will be finished tonight in perhaps the most barbaric match that these four men have been involved in - a stretcher match. The only way to win is to incapacitate one member of the team so badly that they can be placed onto the stretcher and wheeled out of the arena!

Match highlights:
Manuel Majoli dropped Gaz Phillips with a swinging neckbreaker and floored him again with a dropkick. The Hammersmith Hard Men used a double backdrop on Matteo Saronni. Saronni executed a double underhook suplex and a backdrop driver on Rick Knight. Majoli DDTed Phillips and followed up with another perfect dropkick right to the face. The champs took Phillips down with a double elbowsmash. Phillips roared back with a Hotshot and a back suplex on Majoli. Majoli hit a Rocker Dropper on Phillips and almost knocked him out with a hard enzuigiri. La Cosa Nostra placed Phillips on the stretcher and tried to take him to the back, but Phillips rolled off the gurney. Chris Freeman said that the show was overrunning, but the TV station would stay with the programme until the bout ended. Knight and Phillips decided to use the stretcher as a weapon, clotheslining the Italians with it and dropping the stretcher onto their prone bodies! Matteo Saronni connected with the Canoli Crusher on Gaz Phillips and took Rick Knight out at ringside with a plancha. La Cosa Nostra planted Knight with a dangerous spike piledriver onto the steel steps and then wheeled him out of the arena on the stretcher to retain the straps.

Sicilian Stretcher Match:
La Cosa Nostra (Manuel Majoli and Matteo Saronni) defeated
The Hammersmith Hard Men (Gaz Phillips and Rick Knight) in 0:25:11.
Rating: **
(La Cosa Nostra retained the NWA-UK Hammerlock Tag Team Titles.)

La Cosa Nostra are still the champions, but the commentary team seemed more concerned with the condition of Rick Knight as the show went to credits.

Circuit information:
Rick Knight was slightly concussed after that wild Stretcher Match, but thankfully he wasn't any more injured than that. La Cosa Nostra are proving to be fighting champions as next week on Hammerlock TV they will put their titles on the line against the winners of the Tag Team World Cup, the Puerto Rican team of Juan Rivera and Miguel Perez Jr. The Hammersmith Hard Men must now work their way up from the bottom of the ladder if they want another title shot.

Migraine has given notice to NWA-UK Hammerlock. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Here's how the Heatwave card is shaping up...
