Good turning, traveller. Welcome to House Caline, though tread carefully as the ways may change frequently...
A recently gained Vassalage to the Archduchy of Sawall, House Caline has an unusual history for both a new and old Barony. Granted pre-patterndraw by King Swayvill to the Caline siblings, Sabiah and Khalid, for rediscovering the proceedures needed to create ways and for establishing the Waysmasters Guild, Caline soon fell to hard times.
Jesby, a minor noble with no House of his own, seduced the Baroness Caline and beget a child upon her. Mysteriously, she died in childbirth and Jesby pronounced himself Regent of Caline for his infant daughter. Several rotations later, Jesby died. His three elder sons soon established House Jesby in his honor and kept the Regency for their own uses. It became a place for military training since the life form within the land which had bonded to the Caline line made habitation there extremely difficult. For ten thousand years approximately, things continued this way. Until recently.
Pateria Caline, the infant of so long ago, has at last managed to free herself of the Jesby domination and reclaim her birthright. House Caline has been moved as a Vassal to House Sawall for it's protection and the gracious guidance of her Lady, the ArchDuchess Dara Sawall.
The tale does not end there however, for the Baroness' rule over Caline did not last long. During a tragic misunderstanding between Houses Hendrake and Caline, an insult was issued to both Lord Cyrus of Hendrake and to the House of Hendrake more generally. Resulting from this, Pateria Caline was forced to leave the Courts, and seek solace in Shadow. Her daughter, Llaelith Caline, brought up until recently in the Shadow world Menzo, was subsequently bestowed with the title of Baroness by the Archduchess Sawall. Baroness Llaelith has now inherited the House, to guide Caline towards greater destinies. May House Caline's new life regain it's former honor and glory.
