Parish of Crunwere. Please Note that this site is still under construction. The parish of Crunwere lies within the Hundred of Narberth. It has borders with three parishes, all within the same Hundred, and also two in Carmarthenshire. These are:- Lampeter Velfrey, Ludchurch and Amroth, the Carmarthenshire parishes are Marros and Cythis. It is understood that the Parish Registers for Crunwere commence in 1725. |
Crunwere - St. Elidyr.
This rectory originally formed part of the possessions of Pembroke Priory, and afterwards was granted by the King, together with the other property of that Priory to the Abbey of St. Albans. By 1594 this rectory had come into the hands of the Crown.---Owen's Pem.
Cronwer Rectoria.---Ecclesia ibidem ad presentacionem Abbatis Sancti Albani unde Griffinus Lloid est rector et valet per annum cum gleba in toto vj xiij iiij. Inde sol' pro visitacione ordinaria quolibet anno pro sinodalibus et procuracionibus v ix. Et remanet clare £6 6s 9¾d (£6.34). Inde decima 12s 8¼d (£0.64).---Valor Eccl.
Under the headubg ' Livings Discharged ':---Cronver alias Crinowr alias Crunwear alias Cronowr R. (St. Elider or Eliere). Ordinario quolibet tertio anno, 9½d (£0.04).
