Looking for my Father
My name is Gillian. I am 60 years old, and I am looking for my father.

I was born in 1943 in England, during World War II. My mother was English and my father was a Canadian Airman stationed in England.

My mother was already married, and to avoid disgrace, my family covered up the truth. My father knew he had fathered a child, but he and my mother lost contact before I was born. He would not have known whether he had a son or a daughter.

If you, or your father, or grandfather, or brother, or uncle, served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in England in World War II, please read my story.  If you think you know my father, please show him this page. If you can give me any information about my father, please contact me.

I have prepared the following pages for my father. They show pictures of my mother at the time he would have known her, and also my grandparents, who he met. There are also pictures of me, which may show a family likeness. And I have prepared a brief biography of myself, so that my father will know how his daughter turned out.

I hope this finds him.
