Carole's Corner 21

I haven't done a Corner since before Christmas for various reasons but I hope you enjoy this one - Carole

The 'Crystal quote' this issue is rather a long one but it's one I particularly like, it's taken from a review at the Thebarton Concert Hall, Adelaide, Australia in 1982:

"That her tales of drunkeness, infidelity and cruelty drive straight to the heart - seldom the most vunerable organ of the taxi drivers, businessmen, psuedo-cowboys and other halves who appear to dominate her audience - has been widely observed.
How Crystal Gayle does it is a bit of a mystery.
Maybe it's because despite her material being saturated with familiar sentiment and her approach direct and unselfconsciously personal, Crystal Gayle has a cool elegance about her, the sophisication and classy demeanor of a country girl turned city slicker, that gives her such a wide appeal."

Any idea who this is?
I know the picture is a bit on the fuzzy side but it should still be recognisable.

Woman's World.

Having recently seen the Workbasket magazine on sale on Ebay. I wondered how many of you had seen these from Woman's World.

Song Lyric

Though it seems like a long time ago, the last lyric was from 'I'll Be Home For Christmas'
Here's another one:
"Late one night in one of those bars
where you go to drink and sing."
