Stimson MiniBug
The Booby

The Stimson MiniBug was (is?) a completely barmy interpretation of the Beach Buggy, using a Mini and large quantities of mind-expanding (and car-contracting) drugs. A grin on wheels. I bought it with an early 850cc engine; when that expired I grafted a 1275cc unit (which a neighbour was intending to throw away) onto the early gearbox, remarking that the flywheel looked to have been lightened and balanced. The neighbour shrugged, knowing nothing of its history and relieved to see it off his driveway. I fitted a twin-choke Weber carburettor and had it set up properly on a rolling-road, to discover that it was putting out some ridiculous amount of horsepower at the wheels!

Latterly signwritten as "The Flying Microbe", FPG 108J was last heard-of by me in Kingston (Surrey, England) and I'd like to have it back, please!
