6. Set your foreground colour to a peach shade, I
used #FFDFD0. With the preset shapes tool, vector checked, draw an eclipse
and edit the nodes to create a nose shape. When you are happy with the
shape convert it to a raster layer calling it nose.

With the selection tool draw around the nose and click to
make active. Set the foreground colour to red and use the Airbrush tool
with these settings to paint part of the nose. then apply Eye Candy glass,
Ctrl D (select none). In the layer palette drag the nose layer down to the
bottom.

7. Set the foreground to white and with the preset
shapes tool, vector checked draw an eclipse for the beard. When you are
happy with the size and placement convert it to a raster layer naming it
beard. With the selection tool draw around the beard and click to select
and apply the FibreOptix santa preset using the grey to white gradient.
Ctrl/D (select none).

8. With the preset shapes tool, vector checked,
draw an eclipse and edit the nodes for the moustache. When you are happy
with the shape, convert to raster, naming it moustache.

With the selections tool draw around the moustache and
click to select. Apply the FibreOptix santa preset using the grey to white
gradient. Ctrl/D. In the layer palette, duplicate this layer then
image/mirror. Bring the nose layer to the top so that you can position the
two halves of the moustache properly maybe rotating the right hand one
slightly, don't forget to sharpen if you rotate.

9. Using the same colour as for the nose, set the
foreground. With the preset shapes tool draw an eclipse and edit the nodes
to a banana shape for the mouth. Once happy with the size and shape
convert it to a raster layer. Draw around it with the selection tool and
click to select, go to image/cutout and apply these settings.

10. Now all we need to do is to add some shadows,
again on separate layer so that we can erase the parts that aren't
needed. In the layer palette click the merged layer, the hat, to make
active. Draw around it with the selection tool and click to select. Create
a new layer and apply the drop shadow with the previous settings. Ctrl/D
(select none). With the eraser tool erase the outer edges of the shadow.
Repeat this method for the nose and moustache layers.

There we are, one Santa complete. You can add a body if
you're happy to play with vectors. I won't go into that here :o)
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, Happy Xmas *s*
