You will need my Panda selections
and fur fills.
Extract the selection files and fur fills to where ever
you keep them and can find them :o)
OK, lets role up our
sleeves and get creating.
Don't forget to save your work often lest the dreaded
freeze occurs :o)
1. Open an new image
500x380 with a transparent background. Open the
pandab and pandaw jpg's to use as the flood fill.
2. Add a new
raster layer naming it body, Selections/load from disc,
open the pandabody.sel. Flood fill with pandaw.jpg.
Selections/select none.
3. Add a new
raster layer naming it back leg. Go to selections/load
from disc and open pandableg.sel. Flood fill with
pandab.jpg. Selections/select none.
4. Add a new
raster layer naming it front leg. Go to selections/load
from disc and open pandafleg.sel. Flood fill with
pandab.jpg. Selections/select none.
5. Add a new raster
layer naming it ear1. Go to selections/load from disc and
open pandaear1.sel. Flood fill with pandab.jpg.
Selections/select none.
6. Add a new
raster layer naming it head. Go to selections/load from
disc and open pandahead.sel. Flood fill with pandaw.jpg.
Selections/select none.
7. Add a new
raster layer naming it ear2. Go to selections/load from
disc and open pandaear2.sel. Flood fill with pandab.jpg.
Selections/select none.
8. Add a new
raster layer naming it eyes. Go to selections/load from
disc and open pandaeyes.sel. Flood fill with pandab.jpg.
Selections/select none. Stay on the same layer, go to
selections/load from disc and open pandaeye1.sel. Flood
fill with black. Effects/3d effects/inner bevel, apply the
round preset. Selections/none.
9. Add a new raster
layer naming it nose. Go to selections/load from disc and
open pandanose.sel. Flood fill with black, apply the same
inner bevel but change the angle to 158. Selections/none.
10. We're going to
attempt to dirty the fur. In the layer palette click on
the body layer to make active. Get the airbrush tool, with
these settings and using the colour to #A47A4C, lightly
colour the back end and his neck. Then click the head
layer to make active and lightly colour his cheek. Make
the body layer active and with the retouch tool at these
settings darken his belly.

11. Change the
retouch tool to smudge at these settings and smudge the
fur of his face, ears, the edge of the eye patches, body
and legs, when doing his front legs only smudge the fur
that is not joined to the body, also smudge the area's you
sprayed.

12. Merge all
layers visible and with the retouch tool set to smudge
using the same settings smudge the fur of the front where
it joins with the white fur. Change the retouch tool to
darken using the same settings as before but change the
size to 7 draw in his mouth and slightly shade the top of
his right eye.
There you have a panda
bear, save as a psp file or as a tube. If it is too big
for your liking resize but remember to sharpen the image,
I prefer to use the unsharp mask with a radius of 1.00,
strength 75 and clipping 0.
