1887 25th June 1887 William H Chaundy, a labourer died from injuries received 27th May, while passing over a trestling with two other men, a mule, and a small car of ashes the trestling fell, precipitating them a distance of twelve or fourteen feet, at Peerless Colliery, Shamokin. SHAMOKIN - Charles Chaundy committed
suicide by shooting himself in the head at
a local hotel yesterday. It is thought he was
despondent because he unable to recover
from the effects of pneumonia he contracted
