    Eleanor L. Korloch

    Eleanor L. Korloch, 84, of Marshall, passed away February 24, 2010 at her residence. She was born February 24, 1926 in Jacksonville, FL to Arthur Maxwell and Mary Catherine (Chaundy) Chaundy. On May 3, 1947 she married to Richard Korloch in Marshall, MI and he survives. She was a homemaker; also she previously worked at G.C. Murphy and Progressive Dynamics. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marshall. Eleanor was an avid Bowler. Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Donald James (Bobbi) Rollo of Battle Creek, MI and Richard Dennis (Judy) Korloch of Potterville; 7 grandchildren, Jamie (Kaya) Rollo, Shannon (Phil) Merges, Tiffany (Nathan) Hazen, Randy (Hailey) Rollo, Tami Korloch (Mark) Dickinson, Sean (Jenny) Korloch and Matt Korloch; and 11 great grandchildren.     1920 Russell Chaundy appears in the census at the Candelaria border crossing in Presidio County, Texas. The Mexican Revolution changed US border life, as refugees migrated to the US from Chihuahua as the fighting moved into northern Mexico. The United States Army established several posts in Presidio county to watch for border incursions. Marfa became the headquarters for the Big Bend Military District, and in 1917 the Army established Camp Marfa, later called Fort D. A. Russell, at Marfa to protect the border.
