When diagnosed with Candidiasis, the person needs to make a dramatic change in their lifestyle. The diet is the first place to start to change (this means No sugar and No yeast). Also supplements such as an anti-fungal to kill the overgrowth (choose a natural one not a drug), Acidophilus to replace the beneficial bacteria, and a good vitamin and mineral tablet are very important.
Finally, building up the immune system is vital. Stop taking anti-biotics. Check for any allergies as these will sap your immune system. Look at your environment, work etc. Are you under a lot of stress, have you been doing too much? Your health is your most important asset and you know have a great opportunity to learn about how your body and mind works and how a strong immune system can help you to remain healthy for the rest of your life. Candida Sufferers Need Support
I would be very interested in hearing from people who have found out that they have Candida and how they are dealing with it. Please email me, perhaps we can support each other. Since starting this web-site The National Candida Society has been formed (See Books and Further Information section) for address.
One thing that does annoy me is that society is not geared up to help Candida and allergy sufferers. Getting yeast and diary-free bread from supermarkets is impossible. Getting a suitable Candida meal or filtered water, non-diary marg. or milk, and sea-salt is very, very difficult in canteens, restaurants and pubs. Getting tins of tomatoes, carrot juice, and some herbal teas and fruit flavoured mineral water without citric acid is impossible. WHY!!!! What can we do to change these things. Lots of people are allergic to dairy and wheat and yet at any large conference or exhibition, there is no alternative. Even hotels who say that they will cater for you, then leave it to you to try and tell them what to do and sometimes give up. Manufacturers do not need to add salt and sugar to their products. This is just an unhealthy gimmick. We should get together to help our children to rely on good wholesome food which is not adulterated with chemicals and sugar.
