Convair ET-29C, 
FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), registration N246
Flight inspection aircraft of U.S. Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) used from 1959 to 1967 for checking and calibration navaids and instrument procedures, including ILS, MLS, VOR, DME, TACAN, NDB, various radars and airports.
From 1961 on, the "Rhine-Main-office" of the FAA in Frankfurt used the Douglas C-47 and after 1963 the Convair ET-29C in Germany (also to THF). N246 was used to THF from 1965.

Convair 990A
Modern Air
The Modern Air 990A was used to Berlin from 1968. Mostly Tegel was approached. Because of the ban on night flights in Tegel sometimes the airplanes had to make way to THF Airport although this airport lies in a much more densely populated area.
