LATEST BITS!

21st December 2009 -
Check out the BARRYMOREBELIA page for a letter from Diana to Daddy!!

20th December 2009 -
Due to the arrival (at long last) of some super special items, I thought the above note written by John, seemed a little appropriate this year!!! Check out the new THE HONEYMOON DIARIES page.....OMG!!!!!  I thought they deserved their own special headline rather than adding to the BARRYMOREBELIA page.
Wishing you all a very merry christmas and a happy new year.
See you all in 2010 with the MOBY DICK page.

28th November 2009 -
Finally out of customs....Jack's paintings!!!
See one of them on the BARRYMOREBELIA page.  Much more Barrymorebelia items expected soon.  Watch this space!

14th November 2009 -
Just added a couple more of my favorite items to the BARRYMOREBELIA PAGE.  Check out 2 superb old photo albums. The Costello Family (1917) and Guatemale (1930)    What stories they can tell.....

16TH October 2009 -
Next new page on the site will be John's classic(!) MOBY DICK.  Warner Bros remake of their silent version of 1926, The Sea Beast.

15th October 2009
Well.....the website is still here  (YAHOO!!!!) and it seems as though a new webhosting company has taken over, making it all okay to continue where I left off!  Wow....ITS GOOD TO BE BACK!
So, that means more barrymorebelia to be put up and a new page devoted to.....????

26th February 2009 (8pm)  For the few who will visit this website before Saturday 28th,  I have just completed my quickest page yet - BARRYMOREBELIA - before the site is no more.  LYCOS will no longer be doing any web hosting as from that date.  Damn it!  Just as I've never felt so active on the site, it has to end!  However, since I still hold the domain name (johnbarrymore.co.uk) my daughter has volunteed to help me start a new site somewhere else.  In the meantime, you can always get me at myspace - either at www.myspace.com/thebarrymorefamily or  www.myspace.com/clementine_the_monkey

So, in closing I'd just like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has left comments on the guest book and to YOU for visiting my site in honor of the great profile - JOHN SIDNEY BLYTHE BARRYMORE and as Ethel would say "That's all there is...there isn't anymore!"

Love,
Dee

26th February 2009 - To mark the site's 7th year anniversary (March 5th) the BARRYMOREBELIA page will be added as probably the site's last page! Logging in to Lycos a couple of weeks ago, a message appeared basically stating they were going to close down the webhosting service although not until after the first few months of 2009. Obviously I am devestated at this news.  All my hard *cough* work that has been put into it will soon be gone.  Hopefully, Lycos will give us all a warning before they pull the plug but incase they don't, I'd like to get SOME of my BARRYMOREBELIA up on the site before it is no more. *sniff*  Work commences now...

15th February 2009 - As you can now see, I've finally uploaded THE COWBOY'S LAMENT onto YOUTUBE.  However, a last minute decision made me keep it a PRIVATE video.  To hear and view it, you need to send me a request either through this site or to clementinemonkey at YOUTUBE. Happy Birthday to my dear Sweet Prince scoundrel!

10th February 2009 - I've just put one of the BARRYMOREBELIA items on the RADIO BROADCASTS PAGE where it suitably belongs.  A special page dedicated to BARRYMOREBELIA will be coming soon....promise!  Haven't I been good so far this year?  Wow, more updates  during January/February than the whole of 2008 me thinks!

1st February 2009 - Check out the TEMPEST page.  A couple of rareities added which I've pulled from The Barrymore Family myspace site (www.myspace.com/thebarrymorefamily).  Well, its getting close to Jack's 127th Birthday (14th February NOT the 15th as so many people are led to believe) and in honor of this great day, THE COWBOY'S LAMENT should be up on  YOUTUBE (www.youtube.com/user/clementinemonkey).

12th January 2009 - The Barrymorebelia is coming along nicely so not to long to wait for that page to be added to the site.  In the meantime, found a nice little story that is a Barrymore classic.  Check out the 20TH CENTURY page to bring a smile to your face!

8th January 2009 - I've added 2 of my YOUTUBE videos on the RADIO BROADCASTS page.  The 2 videos are part of an interview from a 16 inch transcription disc.  I may decide to do more videos from this interview if people request to hear more. There's your hint!

Having 2 copies (although one is broken) of a private recording called 'THE COWBOY's LAMENT' John made on 78's for close friends (The Bundy Boys in particular) and family ("can you imagine how sore Lionel is going to be when he hears this?"),  once I get some pictures sorted for the video, hopefully that will be available for all to hear too!
What a little gem that is ....forget his Hamlet, Richard III or Macbeth....just wait 'till you hear about Bessie Bond!!! A classic!

22nd DECEMBER 2008 - Well, Looking at my last update on the site, this just has to be my worst productive year on the site in its 6 year history!  However, having a couple of myspace accounts running (and you'll know what THATS like if you have hundreds of friends to send comments to!) and a daughter who has her friends at 'Bebo', getting any quality time for this site has been pushed aside.   You can now forget about the new page being one of John's films from the 40's.  Instead, I hope to offer something better called BARRYMOREBELIA.  John's hand drawing of his 1930 Xmas Card to Dolores (pictured above) should be a hint of what is to come....SOON!  In the meantime, HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009.

27th APRIL 2008 - At last!  I finally got my head around ROMEO AND JULIET and added a new page to the site.  Hmmm 4 months though.   I reckon by that rate, the year 2018 the site should finally be completed with ALL of John's films!  Crikey! I better crack on with the next one then.  Looking at the list so far, I see no film from the '40's yet, so I think it has to be one of those next.    I'm leaning towards 'THE GREAT PROFILE' and 'PLAYMATES' but I'll probably  change my mind completely and do either 'THE INVISIBLE WOMAN' or 'WORLD PREMIERE' (who said BOOO ?)  instead!

2nd January 2008 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!  This year I have decided NOT to make any new year resolutions since I failed so miserably on my one last year!  It was probably my  worst productive on the site and I have nobody to blame except myself, oh and  www.myspace.com/john_barrymore the scoundrel!

Well, having added some more Rudy Vallee Sealtest shows to my collection, I've updated the radio shows page.  I've also decided to do ROMEO & JULIET as the next forthcoming feature page so look out for that soon! I PROMISE!  OOps, I said no promises, haha!

Have a Nice Day!
