The stone circles of SeneGambia

These stone circles can be found stretching across the northern border with Senegal and as far south as Guinea. Around 40 sites are dotted along the northern bank of the river Gambia. Most of the sites contain between 10 to 20 stone circles. The stone circles are pretty much a mystery , But ,most experts agree that the ancient stones date from a period preceding the great ancient Empire of "Ghana" and were erected by a previous African civilisation over 1,000 years ago
