How to Develop Your Career
Every year, Anglo-Hellenic help scores of English teachers find employment in language schools throughout Greece. With twelve years' experience of the EFL profession in Greece, we are uniquely placed to find you a post that suits you.
What Qualifications are Required?
There are just two necessary qualifications:
You must be a native speaker of English.
You must have a degree.
Preferably you should also have a basic TEFL qualification such as the RSA or Trinity Certificate, but this is not always essential.
What are employment conditions like?
Because Anglo-Hellenic recruit teachers for schools throughout Greece, we are able to match the requirements of the school and those of the teacher.
Many of the positions we offer are in Athens, a modern, cosmopolitan city. Others are in provincial towns, in villages or on islands. You choose what kind of place you prefer to live and work in.
In a typical situation, you would expect to teach twenty-five hours per week in a small, privately-owned English school.
You would live in a flat provided by the school owner, and your salary would be sufficient to live well by local standards and to enjoy getting to know this beautiful country in your spare time.
Contracts normally run from September to June. If you decide to stay in Greece, your experience will be a valuable asset. Training courses are available in Athens for those who wish to obtain further qualifications, so the opportunities for professional development are limitless.
