Reserves Team Match Report - Northway v St.Marks Res

This top of the table clash was always going to be tough with St.Marks only having lost 1 game and Northway none. Northway had a goal disallowed after 5mins (never offside),but it was St.Marks who scored after 30mins to take a 1-0 lead.Northway’s defence of Allsopp,Kempson,Nolan and Lyes held on after Taylor/Jerry had a nightmare 1st half.After a hard half time talk,Jerry said he wanted his w/end to end on a high as man city had won earlier. HT 1-0 Northway started the 2nd half with a bang and Jerry found Taylor on the edge of the box and he ripped the net off with a 20 yard effort. The same player then collected the ball from D.Pearce (who had mis-kicked his shot to the edge of the area) and drove in his second. Jerry then converted a 25 yard free kick into the top corner. Jamie (who played superb) then found Taylor who completed his hat-trick for Northway’s 4th. The final goal came from Hughes’s touch line 45 yard effort. FT 5-1
