1st Team Match Report - Northway v Thornbury Town(County Cup Rd2)

Northway travelled to Thornbury Tn in the 2nd round of the County Cup.The home side started well and should have been two in front in the first 10 minutes.Northway then started a move from inside their half and Hopson played Beasley in who’s shot was parried only for Taylor to react the quickest and hammer the ball into the roof of the net.10 minutes later a ball by Middleton found Taylor for skipped pass two challenges and slotted the ball across for Hopson to fire home.Beasley then went on a mazy run taking him past numerous defenders and driving the ball into the bottom corner.The home side repleyed with two quick goals.HT 3-2 By now Northway were running riot and one two’s between Lyes and Taylor from the halfway line nearly brought another goal for Beasley.Middleton then found Taylor who played Middleton back in for a thunderous strike from the edge of the box.Beasley then scored his second (21st of the season).The home side managed another goal for a final score of 5-3.Manager Turgoose was over the moon with this fine display and rewared the players with a pint each.
